The "Be You" Room
Welcome to the Be You Room!
In the Be You Room, Jesus recovers and reveals our original design.
He tells us who we are to Him and releases freedom and playfulness in relationship with Him. After internalizing that Jesus delights in us exactly the way we are, we invite Him to lead us into our true destiny as He designed it.
God created each one of us with diverse Kingdom Callings on our lives. Things like:
4. Marketplace Redeemers
6. Anointed Educators
7. Treasure Bringers
10. City Builders
In the end, the number one question God will ask you when you get to heaven is, “Did you become you?” You becoming you is an expression of love.
As each one has received a special gift,
employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
- 1 Peter 4:10
RECONCILING OURSELVES TO OURSELVES. When Jesus led me into the Be You Room, there was a banner over the room that said “Reconciliatory Hope.” Jesus said, “In this room you will be reconciling Bob Hartley to Bob Hartley. You have been dragged places you didn’t want to go but you didn’t know how to stop it. You did not become you."
Then He said, "I don’t want you to be dragged around anymore. I’m going to show you what you’re being dragged around by." He then held up a mirror, “You’ve given everyone else a word, why not give yourself a word from you? You always hold up the mirror and give encouraging words to others, how about you for you?”
In the Be You Room, God reverse the roles on us. He wants to reconcile you to you. It's time for a good word out of yourself, about yourself, because the good the words are not just going to come from others on the outside, but they have to come out of you for yourself.
For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.
In this process, God will hold up the right mirror so we gain His perspective for ourselves and for others. He will correct us humbly, through kindness and love, and then show us the Kingdom Callings He has given us. Then we can become Hope Ambassadors for the Kingdom Callings we see in others.
For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good deeds,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.
