In the Joy Room, we behold His face as "The God of Joy."  He is its author, and Joy has a purpose!

Lord, there is no one like You! You are our Beautiful, Joy-filled God whose Goodness and Love radiates throughout all Your creation.  In the beginning, O God of Joy, You created.  You did what only You could do and it was Your Delight to call heaven and earth into being.

Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?

...Who fixed its measurements?... Or who stretched a measuring line across it?

On what were its foundations set, or who laid its cornerstone

while the morning stars sang together

and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Job 38:4-7

You had beautiful dreams of what would be, as You Joyfully brought them forth. Full of fire and joyful divine creativity, You filled the heavens and earth with the reality of Your Hope.

Let the sea resound, and all that fills it, the world, and all who dwell in it.

Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy before the Lord...

Psalm 98:7-9

The pastures of the wilderness overflow; the hills are robed with joy.

Psalm 65:12

And, as You looked at what You had made, it pleased You.  It was Your great pleasure to fill the heavens and earth with the amazing creations that were in Your beautiful and complex.

Songs of joy and victory are sung in the camp of the godly.

The strong right arm of the Lord has done glorious things!

Psalm 118:15

And then, after You had given so much, You still weren’t finished. There was more in Your heart...we were in Your heart. You wanted wanted a family.

...To all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name,

He gave the right to become children of God—

children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God.…

John 1:12-13

With great Joy, You created us. And though You could have made us in any form You wanted, You chose to make us in Your image so that this part of Your creation would look like You.

You were filled with Joy over Your new sons and daughters and You called your new creation good...You called us very good! You created a special place, a beautiful garden, to meet with us because You have always loved to be with us.  Though the place has changed, Your desire for us has not!

And, even though You knew the end from the beginning, and that everything would not always go smoothly with us, it gave You great Joy to love us with Your unfailing the beginning, today and always.

I distinguish the end from the beginning, and ancient times from what is still to come,

saying: ‘My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure.’

Isaiah 46:10

You are our Joy-filled Father who Delights in all His creation.  We love You, Lord.

I have told you this so that my joy may be in you

and that your joy may be complete.

John 15:11
